Eleanor & Park and Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book Reviews

Eleanor & Park

This week, I finished reading two books, Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell and Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.

Eleanor & Park is about two teenagers, seemingly different, fall in love. We follow along as they meet, awkwardly and uncomfortably get to know each other and fall in love. I really liked this book because it was an easy, light read, funny, set in 1980’s, one of the main characters is half Korean (I love all things Korean) and the other has bright red hair and chubby. It also has some drama to sink your teeth into.

Next, I read Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I found this at Goodwill and thought it was interesting. I love children’s books (as well as young adult) and I really liked this one. It’s a diary of a kid in middle school name Greg Heffley with comic drawings on every page. There is no plot, climax, rising action, etc. since it is a diary, just anecdotes from his life. Greg never seems to get his way even though he tries very hard, it always backfires. It was a very quick and enjoyable read.

What did you read this week?

Thank you for visiting my blog,
